You know what I just realized while finalizing some things? This is the year you all graduate middle school and enter high school as freshmen. How exciting is that? Soon you will be a part of the graduating class of 2016! How cool is that?
My advice to you is to give back as much as you can. Give your talents, your intelligence and make this year one of your best years yet in middle school. You have the chance to turn this year around and make a positive name for yourself. So my question to you is, how would you like to be remembered? Would you like to be remembered as someone who made mistakes, but learned from them and made a huge turnaround? Would you like to be remembered as someone who did a lot for the school and really worked hard or someone that slacked off because "it's my last year!" and you're too tired to continue working at this point? Remember, this is YOUR year and your chance to leave a lasting impression and maybe even a legacy that will benefit more people than you realize

Welcome to High School Readiness! I am looking forward to working with you all for the rest of this school year to discuss high schools and what to expect next year as 8th graders. This upcoming Thursday, we will begin working on our high school inventories, in which we'll start researching schools and matching them with our grades. For example, you may want to go to Central, but do you have the grades to make it into the school? If not, how can you get those grades in preparation for next year?
Also, I will start giving you suggestions based on the grades that you've received towards the end of the year for schools next year. I am very excited to be assisting you all through this process. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions that you may have. Best, Ms. Woodbury |
