Hey future 9th graders,
I won't be teaching you today because there's a trip this Friday. Instead, you will be dismissed with everyone else at 1:45 pm. I will be attending the trip with you all, so I am looking forward to it. The only thing I do ask is that you start thinking about how to answer the question, "who am I?" and how you would like to address that in your essay. If someone were to write an article about you and wanted to know everything about you, what things would you want to include in that article? For example, if I were to have an article written about me, I might want to include my current profession, my passion for education, and my desire to be a servant for Jesus. However, you might want to include that you're a student, some things you enjoy doing in your free time, and some interesting qualities about yourself that you think will be a good fit for the high schools you chose. In fact, remember the "About Me" activity I had you do? I would use your responses from that and start thinking how you can use that in your essay. I hope that you all enjoy your weekend and I will see you throughout the week. Best, Ms. Woodbury P.S. God loves you like crazy!

Hey future 9th graders,
There has been a slight change to the timeline for the high school application process. Instead of the application process being open for submission on October 17th, it will be open October 1st. This means that you actually have TWO weeks until the application is open. This does not mean that you have to have your entire application completed on October 1st. This does mean, however, that this week's lesson will be really helpful in starting to think about the school you would like to go to, if you have not been thinking about that yet. This also means I will start pulling you out sooner than later to go through the application with you. We also have a lot of tours coming up in the month of October. I will be creating permission slips and sending them home with you soon. Remember, I am here to help you, so if you're feeling anxious about this process remember to relax, continue to trust God, and use me as a resource. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this process. Best, Ms. Woodbury |
